Second Large-Format Press Added, ?This One Featuring UV Capabilities

NILES, IL—The Garvey Group, a network of marketing, print production, support and fulfillment divisions, has acquired its second six-color, 81? KBA Rapida 205 sheetfed press. It is configured with in-line UV capabilities from Air Motion Systems.

"Installing two 81? sheetfed presses, side-by-side, sets us apart from our competitors in many distinct ways," contends Joe Kulis, COO at the Niles location.

"From a practical point of view, having two presses next to each other allows our company to streamline our paper delivery to both presses, helps our press crews move between the two presses and gives us the flexibility to move jobs from one press to the other."

Upgrades Increase Printer's Midsize Output Offerings

MIAMI—When the brother owners of eDigitalPrinting.com needed a turnkey solution to make prepress, pressroom and postpress improvements, they turned to Heidelberg.

The nine-year-old commercial printer has installed a Suprasetter 74 SCL thermal platesetter; a four-color, 29? Speedmaster SM 74 press with coater; and a Polar 92 X guillotine cutter. The upgrades mark the company's foray into more midsize-format work, including posters and pocket folders.
