Peyton J. Barkley, 69, the chairman of Buhl Press, Berkeley, IL, died of a heart attack on Christmas day in his Chicago home. Mr. Barkley had a long career in the printing industry. In 1976, he acquired the assets of Buhl Press. Under his leadership, the company grew to become a leader in the specialized printing field of color lithography on plastic.

Patty Polon, Patrick Cosgrove and Flo Pica have joined the sales staff at Panel Prints, Old Forge, PA. Polon has been named sales representative for the Northeast section of the country. Cosgrove has joined the company in the area of new business development. Pica has assumed responsibility for special sales projects.

Gary W. Lomber has joined Midland Communications Packaging, Louisville, KY, as general manager and partner. He has more than 36 years of experience in the information and communication packaging business. He comes to Midland from Bok Industries, where he was production manager.

R.R. Donnelley Logistics has named mailing industry veteran Gerald A. Pappa vice president of postal affairs. Pappa’s primary responsibilities include furthering the company’s partnership with the U.S. Postal Service to benefit mailers and direct marketers. Most recently, Pappa was vice president of logistics planning with The Home Shopping Network.
