With the Printmaster QM 46, the grain direction of paper up to 115 lb. should be the same as the feeding direction, i.e., short grain. When printing thicker material, the grain direction should be parallel to the cylinder shaft (long grain). Stocks cut to various formats may have tolerances in size. To prevent feeding or register problems caused by these tolerances and to guarantee true-to-register printing in an optimized run, an angle cut or four-side cut of the paper is recommended. When printing paper of a length between 5.5" and 13.39", it’s advisable to feed the longer side of the paper.
