A simple rule of thumb in determining the correct cutter size for your needs: take your largest sheet size and measure the diagonal from one corner to the opposite corner, then add two inches. Or, just use the Pythagoras formula [C2=A

2] and solve for C=SQR(A

2).
For example, if your largest sheet size is 40” x 28”, then your diagonal would be 51”. Here’s the calculation in detail [C=SQR(40”

2)+2” = SQR(1600”+784”)+2” = SQR(2384”)+2” = 48.83” + 2” = 50.83”, or rounded up to 51”. The correct cutter size would be a 54”, or Polar 137 XT cutter.
