PIA Announces MGI 2015 InterTech Technology Award for iFOIL Digital Foiling Solution
MELBOURNE, Fla.—July 24, 2015—The Printing Industries of America (PIA) has announced that MGI Digital Technology has been awarded the internationally prestigious 2015 InterTech Technology Award for the iFOIL Digital Hot Foiling System. The iFOIL is part of an integrated, inline product suite that features the MGI’s JETvarnish 3D Digital Spot UV Coater, which received the coveted InterTech Award in 2013.
Since 1978, PIA has annually selected the most significant print industry products released each year to receive the InterTech Technology Award. The judging criteria is based on technological innovation and business value towards advancing the future growth of the entire print industry.

The application of Variable Data Finishing (VDF) opens up whole new business opportunities for printers," noted Dr. Mark Bohan, PIA vice president of technology and research. “The judges were especially impressed with the range of metallic colors and tones, as well as the effects that can be created."

MGI will be demonstrating the iFOIL and JETvarnish 3D solutions in live production, as well as a new breakthrough digital toner foiling product, the iFOIL T, at GRAPH EXPO 15 at booth #3013.
