Pair Charged in Bid Fixing Scenario
November 2008According to The Associated Press, between 2005 and 2007, DRS Printing Services owner Daniel Snyder gave more than $30,000 and other gifts to Kyle Becker, who worked 10 years as a purchasing agent for the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency (PHEAA). The charges are part of an ongoing investigation into alleged bribery and bid manipulation for printing work and supplies at PHEAA.
Corbett said the payments, including a $10,000 check that was used as a down payment for a truck, were intended to entice Becker into making sure the PHEAA did business with Snyder’s printing business. Becker was also alleged to have received several gifts in exchange for information regarding competitive bids for PHEAA contracts.
Both men have been charged with bribery, and Becker was also charged with conflict of interest, according to the AP.
