DALLAS—July 26, 2010—Padgett Printing brought Santa and Mrs. Claus to theannual “Christmas in July” event held at Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children (TSRHC). This was the 11th year for the event, and Padgett has become an integral part of the tradition.

Padgett Printing sponsored Santa and Mrs. Claus. President and CEO, David Torok, drove Santa in his Christmas-red Dodge Viper and silver Dodge Viper owner Mike Monin drove Mrs. Claus to the event.

On the way to the Hospital, Dallasites were surprised to see Santa and Mrs. Claus waving to them from their Vipers wearing cowboy hats on the summer day. TSRHC patients and families gathered outside to greet them when they arrived. Santa and Mrs. Claus then went into the hospital and handed out toys to patients donated by Padgett. Each child also got a souvenir photo with Santa. Santa and Mrs. Claus also visited TSRHC patients in the inpatient unit.

TSRHC patient families joined staff members and volunteers to help spark the patients’ creativity in the design of TSRHC’s Holiday Cards for the 2010 season. Some TSRHC patients attending Christmas in July participated in the TSRHC Holiday Card contest. Three holiday designs, created by TSRHC patients, will be selected and featured as TSRHC’s Holiday Cards for 2010, which will be available for purchase in time for the holiday season.

Since 1987, TSRHC patients have provided artwork for the hospital’s Holiday Cards. Sales of these cards generated more than $20,000 for TSRHC last year. Padgett Printing, a long-term friend and generous contributor to TSRHC, has donated the printing of the cards for many years, and will be printing the 2010 series.

TSRHC is one of the nation’s leading pediatric centers for the treatment of orthopedic conditions, certain related neurological disorders and learning disorders, such as dyslexia. Admission is open to Texas children from birth to 18 years of age.
