Brandt Co. Purchases MultiAd Printing Division

PEORIA, IL—MultiAd has sold its 20-year-old commercial printing division to Brandt Co. of Davenport, IA, the Peoria Journal Star reported. The decision to sell was motivated by the need for investments in newer printing technology, according to MultiAd President John Kocher.

The printing division at MultiAd had produced much of its work for the sports industry, including the 2008 U.S. Olympic media guide. It also produced guides and yearbooks for U.S. soccer teams along with other sports publications.

However, the publishing side of MultiAd’s business became the smallest of its four divisions, and it chose to sell rather than invest in digital printing equipment, the newspaper reported. Brandt is rebranding that business as Brandt Sports Marketing and will relocate to another office in Peoria. Print production will be done in Iowa.
