Mitsubishi Imaging Creates a Sustainable Buzz at GRAPH EXPO

RYE, NY—10/25/2010—Mitsubishi Imaging, a leader in polyester plate technology, presented its next generation of ecologically friendly CTP systems, the new Processless DigiPlate PDP-VL and Thermal DigiPlate System at the recent GRAPH EXPO ‘10 in Chicago.

Processless DigiPlate PDP-VL
Highlighting the Mitsubishi Imaging exhibit was the new Processless DigiPlate PDP-VL. The new PDP-VL plate will be available in polyester or paper base in sheet or roll format in various thicknesses. PDP-VL, compatible with most current violet CTP platesetters as well as Mitsubishi’s soon to be released PDP CTP series, combines chemistry-free plate production with the offset quality and affordability of Mitsubishi Imaging’s Silver DigiPlate. The new violet sensitive PDP-VL plates use a polymer cross-linking technology that requires no chemical processing to create the image area. This unique plate requires only water for rinsing and no pre-heating, no post-heating and no gumming.

“GRAPH EXPO was a very positive show for Mitsubishi”, said Catherine Cartolano, Vice President Graphic Arts Materials & Technical Services, Mitsubishi Imaging. “The highlight of the show for us was the successful introduction of our new Processless DigiPlate which drew a crowd for our live demos and a consistently favorable reaction from our customers and dealers alike. We are looking forward to the official introduction of the Processless DigiPlate in early 2011”.

“Mitsubishi Imaging has been on top of their game for a long time, and now with the introduction of their new processless DigiPlate technology, this really sets them apart from the competition”, according to Roger Bungert, President GSS Graphics, Inc., a Mitsubishi Imaging Dealer in West Bend, Wisconsin. “With their new PDP-VL plate being green and processless, I think this will spur on considerable new business in an ever-changing marketplace.”

Thermal DigiPlate System
“Attracting considerable interest and a significant number of our show leads was the affordable, processless and chemistry-free Thermal DigiPlate, a 2-up CTP system ideal for smaller printers who want an environmentally friendly upgrade from analog, electrostatic, and toner plates”, said Colleen Molkenbur, Senior Product Manager, Mitsubishi Imaging.
