MELBOURNE, FL—August 14, 2014—MGI Digital Graphic Technology will be exhibiting at GRAPH EXPO 14 on Sept. 28–Oct. 1 in Chicago, at booth #3013. Among the many new innovations at the MGI booth will be two of the 2014 Must See 'Ems Award Winners, the JETvarnish 3D with the “T2” upgrade and the Meteor DP8700 XL+, winners in the Post-Press and In-Line Finishing and Digital Press categories respectively.

Amid the many new technologies to be highlighted this year at GRAPH EXPO 14, the JETvarnish 3D “T2” will be sure to turn heads. MGI’s JETvarnish 3D,  just got more powerful with a new field upgradeable option, allowing for doubling (“T2”) production speeds and the ability to digitally coat up to 300 microns in one pass on formats up to 52x105cm (20x40").

In addition to the increased speed, the new barcode reaction camera system will allow users to digitally emboss or spot varnish variable data by reading printed barcodes and recalling the correct images in the workstation to varnish with ease. The JETvarnish 3D “T2” can be connected to MGI’s award-winning iFOIL module to create 100 percent digital hot foiling in-line. Without the use of dies, plates or makeready, this revolutionary duo create a tactile elegance never seen before.

MGI will also be launching the fifth generation of Meteor Series digital press, the Meteor DP8700 XL+, premiering for the first time in North America. The newest member to the Meteor family of digital presses, the Meteor DP8700 XL+ will bring a sizeable upgrade in quality, format sizing, thicknesses and more.

Truly an unrivaled digital press, the Meteor DP8700 XL+ allows for a large choice of formats combined with a broad range of substrates and thicknesses that no one else in the industry can offer. With offset comparable output and the ability to print substrates up to 400GSM and plastics up to 400μm and no click charges, the Meteor DP8700 XL+ makes the operation process easier and more user friendly.
