Donnelley Nets Pact with Canadian Grocery Chain

CHICAGO—RR Donnelley has been awarded a multiyear, multimillion-dollar agreement by Metro Inc., a grocery and pharmacy chain in Quebec and Ontario with more than 65,000 employees. Under the terms of the agreement, which renews and expands the companies’ relationship, Metro will draw upon Donnelley’s Canadian production, distribution and technology platform for its administrative and operational documents.

“RR Donnelley has been a strategic business provider for Metro for 10 years,” stated Richard Dufresne, Metro’s senior vice president and CFO. “We believe that RR Donnelley’s production capabilities and its technology-based solutions are fully aligned with Metro’s Customer First Strategy, to help support a better shopping experience for our customers.”

With more than $11 billion in annual revenues, Metro operates a network of 564 supermarkets under several banners, including Metro, Metro Plus, Super C and Food Basics, as well as 257 pharmacies, mainly under the Brunet, Pharmacy and Drug Basics banners.
