MBO America Product Manager Hartmut Sohn Retires

MARLTON, NJ—January 16, 2014—MBO America, a leader in the print finishing industry recently gave a ceremonial send off to Product Manager of MBO Digital Hartmut Sohn for his 18 years of devoted service to the company. A five-decade veteran to the binding industry, Sohn will be remembered for his unmatched expertise and ability to create customer solutions for specialized fold productions, earning him the nickname, “Mr. Origami.” Company colleagues from all over the world joined together to celebrate his retirement.

Sohn was trained at the Knoll Co. book bindery in Backnang, Germany, before moving on to Klett Co. in Korb. When he was 23 years old, Sohn spent six months in Thailand establishing strong business relationships and after his return, he graduated in book bindery management and folding before heading abroad to Indonesia for 3 1/2 years. Afterwards, Sohn came back to Germany where he worked for ten years as the Department Manager of direct mailing, production and development at Klett Co.

Later in his career, Sohn worked briefly for Hunkeler-USA and HHS Glue Systems then joined MBO America as regional sales manager. In 2009, Sohn returned to Germany to finish out his remarkable and unblemished career with MBO, where he was named product manager of digital systems—a position he held until his retirement.

Sohn’s 50 years of dedicated service in the book binding industry built many long lasting relationships which left a positive impact on those who had the pleasure of interacting and working with him.
