DELRAY BEACH, FL—Louis Moyroud, the co-inventor of the process of phototypesetting, died this week at the age of 96, according to the Associated Press. René A. Higonnet and Mr. Moyroud applied for a patent on the Photon 100 in 1944. The device used input from a keyboard or punched paper tape to drive the exposure of photographic film or paper.
