Printers Choose Heidelberg Solutions to Upgrade, Streamline Operations

July 30, 2010
KENNESAW, GA—July 31, 2010—Heidelberg USA announces the following new product installations:

Honblue, Inc. Goes A Shade Greener with Suprasetter A52

Honblue, Inc., Honolulu, Hawaii, reports the installation of a Suprasetter A52 CtP device with Prinect Hybrid Screening at its Electric Pencil print facility as part of a move to upgrade its prepress system and advance the company’s ongoing “green” initiative. The new chemistry-free, energy-sparing thermal platesetter system, which boasts the lowest energy consumption and the lowest heat output in the small-format thermal platesetter class, replaces the company’s existing violet Prosetter, yielding greater efficiency and reduced running costs. Prinect Hybrid Screening also has enhanced the company’s overall print image quality, especially in the highlight areas. The new Suprasetter images Saphira Chemfree plates for the company’s 6-color Speedmaster CD 74, 4-color Speedmaster SM 52 and 4-color Printmaster GTO presses. Electric Pencil’s full-service bindery also hosts a range of Polar paper cutters and Stahlfolders.

Established in 1967 and with annual sales of $11 million, family run Honblue, Inc. comprises no fewer than four separate businesses, including commercial print division Electric Pencil (home to the company’s Heidelberg installations), digital division Zoombis, Jet Graphics (presentation graphics) and Blackbird (IT services). The company describes itself as a Hawaii-based technology company that manages, transfers and accelerates the flow of information within the design and construction industries. It employs a staff of 130 and serves a primarily local client base made up chiefly of architectural, engineering, graphic design and advertising agencies.

According to Executive Vice President Matt Heim, Honblue prizes its relationship with Heidelberg not only for the reliability of its equipment, but for the quality of Heidelberg service and support. “When you’re island-bound and you’re looking at a press to buy, you look to the availability of good service and support as much as you look to the quality of the equipment,” Heim said. “Throughout our whole history with Heidelberg, we’ve always been able to count on fast, responsive service, no matter what. In our eyes, it’s a big part of what sets Heidelberg apart from the competition.”

Outstanding performance combined with a space-saving footprint: Suprasetter A52.
