Laschinger Named President of xpedx; Brown New National Sales Rep for Ryobi Large-Format Presses

November 10, 2009
CINCINNATI—Nov. 10, 2009—Mary Laschinger has been named president of xpedx, replacing the current president, Tom Kadien, and will also serve as senior vice president of xpedx' parent company, International Paper (IP). Scott Brown becomes national sales representative for Ryobi large-format presses with responsibility for growing capital equipment sales in the central and southern United States and also helping customers develop new opportunities via prepress equipment and workflow technologies, as well as bindery, finishing and mailing equipment.

As the current president of IP Europe, Middle East and Africa, Laschinger has leadership responsibility for the company’s pulp, paper, and packaging businesses in Europe, Russia, and North Africa. She has been with IP since 1993, holding positions of vice president of the Wood Products business, vice president of Pulp, general manager of Industrial Papers, and various senior management roles in sales, marketing, manufacturing, and supply chain.

Laschinger is the lead director for International Paper on the board of directors of the recently formed joint venture in Russia with IlimHolding S.A.  She is also a member of the Board of Directors for Confederation of European Paper Industries.

Prior to joining International Paper, Laschinger was with Kimberly-Clark and the former James River Paper Company in various senior management roles.

Brown is a 24-year veteran of the printing industry, with 20 years of press sales experience at Heidelberg and Komori.  In 2008, he was honored as Komori National Salesman of the Year.

“xpedx will continue to recruit the industry’s most talented, proven sales professionals,” said John Torrey, vice president and general manager of the xpedx Technology Center in metropolitan Cincinnati. “We are committed to helping printers understand that strategic capital equipment investments are integral to growing their businesses.”
