Japs-Olson to Host the 2012 Automation Solutions Network Meeting

PITTSBURGH—April 4, 2012—Japs-Olson is pleased to host the next Automation Solutions Network meeting on Sept. 18-19, 2012, in St. Louis Park, MN. The printer specializes in direct marketing production. Utilizing its workflow automation techniques and expertise, logistic experts manage campaigns from a few thousand pieces to tens of millions. The company’s diverse automation applications provide innovative solutions and services manufactured in one location.

The Automation Solutions Network focuses on the development and practical implementation of automated workflow systems and cross-vendor implementations. The group welcomes a wide range of users of JDF-enabled systems as well as the suppliers of those systems. The Automation Solutions Network steering committee includes printers who have implemented successful automated workflow systems or are in the process of doing so.

Attendees will tour Japs-Olson’s 512,000-sq.ft. facility—one of the most comprehensive automated workflows in the country. They will listen to management discuss the company’s business model decisions for workflow automation and how it expanded revenue opportunities. Japs-Olson approached workflow integration piece by piece. It chose to purchase new equipment while retrofitting legacy equipment to achieve successful workflow integration.

“The most beneficial part of part of the Automation Solutions Network was meeting a few folks from Mimeo.com [at January’s meeting] who are behind the company’s industry-leading success,” says Brian Shipe, director technology and solution integration at Mercury Print Productions. “Even better was realizing that they are working on some of the same issues that Mercury is working on. This helped renew my zeal in our automation projects, and provided reinforcement that we are on the right path.”

The Automation Solutions Network is a great way to network with peers in the printing industry who are implementing workflow automation. Come to this premier event to exchange ideas and network with other’s who implemented automated solutions. For more meeting information and registration, visit the Japs-Olson meeting page.
