NURTINGEN, GERMANY—Joachim Jung, 59, managing director of UV systems manufacturer IST Metz, died January 4 after a short illness.
He is considered a pioneer of the UV industry, having played an instrumental role in helping it get established in the printing industry.
Mr. Jung helped founder Gerhard Metz take the company from its inception in 1977 to an international concern that currently boasts 13 companies and more than 500 employees worldwide.
