Integrity Graphics Successfully Tests G7 on Recycled Paper

WINDSOR, CT—June 8, 2009—Integrity Graphics, Inc., in the forefront of green innovations, has successfully tested the G7 method of consistent color matching on 100% recycled paper. G7 is an improved method for matching color across multiple devices. Its goal is repeatable, consistent color and images from proof to press, press-to-press, and printer-to-printer.

“Now our clients can have both the most consistent color quality possible with the greenest paper options,” according to Integrity Graphics President, Joseph La Valla.

Integrity Graphics was the first to earn G7 Master Printer designation in the world in 2005, now they’ve pushed the rigors of that process even further, testing the G7 method on 100 percent recycled paper. Previously G7 methods could only be achieved on coated, clean stock. In contrast, recycled paper’s unique characteristics mean a high degree of variability with a shorter range and a smaller color gamut. The recycled sheet tested was Cascades Rolland Enviro 100 Print and it features flecks or remnants of the recycling process.

Cascades calculated that every ton of virgin paper that’s switched to Rolland Enviro 100 Print saves 17 mature trees, 1,081 pounds of solid wastes, 10,196 gallons of water, 6.9 pounds of suspended particles in the water, 2,098 pounds of air emissions and 2,478 cubic feet of nature gas. In 2007 Integrity recycled 512 tons of paper saving 8,720 trees, 3,566,680 gallons of water, 4,037,587 gallons of oil, 301,113 pounds of air pollution, 1,569 cubic yards of landfill space and 35,553,437 kwh of electricity. The company is currently calculating 2008 recycling results. Its web automation division, e-Integrity, in Stratford, Connecticut is almost completely green.
