WEYMOUTH, MA—Oct. 4, 2011—Direct mail, books and bills/statements, projected to be the top three digital production printing applications by 2015, are expected to exceed page volumes of over 270 billion impressions, according to InfoTrends’ recently published “U.S. Digital Production Printing Application Forecast: 2010-2015.”
Top 15 Applications by Print Volume (2010 and 2015)
The change in demand for certain applications will have a profound impact on the demand for digital printing in competition with other processes as well as between the product groups. Details of this forecast will focus on application volumes and volume growth for 28 print applications and 11 hardware segments in the U.S. from 2010 to 2015.
Ralf Schlozer, a Director at InfoTrends, commented, “While there are a number of quickly growing segments, there are applications with little or no growth and even some with declining volumes. Suppliers to the industry will need to target hardware development and product features toward growing applications.”
The U.S. forecast follows on InfoTrends’ recently published “Western European Digital Production Printing Application Forecast: 2010-2015.” Each report has a complementing Excel file containing detailed data sets, as well as definitions of the application trends and qualitative explanations of these trends. Both forecasts are available for immediate purchase.
