Hopkins Printing Adding a New Heidelberg XL106 Sheetfed Press

COLUMBUS, OH—Oct. 30, 2012—Hopkins Printing has announced the purchase of a new Heidelberg Speedmaster five-color sheetfed press for its pressroom. Running at 18,000 sheets per hour, the XL106 will enhance the company’s printing capabilities while also boosting efficiency and productivity.

The press will print a 75×106-cm (29.53×41.73˝) sheet, has a coating system, and also boasts Prinect Inpress Control, which implements new internal spectrophotometer technology for automatic color control during each run.

“This will be our second XL press, which puts us in a great position to serve our customers,” said Jim Hopkins, CEO of Hopkins Printing.

“The increased depth in our pressroom with the latest technology will allow us to get projects to our bindery—and ultimately our customers—faster,” added Roy Waterhouse, president.

The new press is expected to be installed in March 2013 and will replace Hopkins’ 2000 Heidelberg CD.
