Himmer to Inaugurate the manroland Roland 900 XXL Perfector

AUGSBURG, GERMANY—3/25/2010—World premiere: Roland 900, XXL, the first format 8 sheetfed offset press with a perfecting system is about to start production at Himmer AG. The customer specified very demanding press acceptance tests, which the Roland 900 XXL reportedly passed with flying colors.

The perfecting system of the Roland 900 XXL with a maximum sheet size of 1,310 x 1,870 mm revolutionizes sheetfed offset printing: new efficiency benchmarks can now be set for print production and subsequent finishing. This perfecting press can print 64 A4 pages in one pass. For trouble-free finishing, the Roland InlineSlitter in the delivery divides the sheets into two straight-edged stacks that can be processed in standard folding machines.

The customer has high expectations
Himmer AG is one of the leading book printers in Southern Germany and the expectations they have for production with the new press are correspondingly high. Now the advantages perfecting offers are also available in format 8:

• Time savings through printing both sides in one pass without two makeready and wash-up processes and without de-powdering, and simplified logistics and organization.

• Space savings as well because there are no semi-finished jobs waiting for the second side to be printed.

• Organizational advantages because there is no need to schedule separate printing of the second side.

There is no printing quality compromise with the Roland 900, XXL perfecting press and the start looks promising: Himmer is extremely satisfied with the first results using demanding forms such as a furniture catalog on matt-coated art paper.
