Heidelberg Workflow Solutions Gain JDF-compliant Certifications

KENNESAW, GA—July 2, 2007—Heidelberg USA announced that two of its Prinect workflow solutions, MetaDimension RIP and Signa Station, recently were recognized by leading graphic arts industry organizations. Both products were certified as JDF-compliant by The Printing Industries of America/Graphic Arts Technical Foundation (PIA/GATF), which handles certification for the International Cooperation for Integration of Processes in Prepress, Press and Postpress (CIP4) organization.
Heidelberg MetaDimension also was honored by the International Prepress Association (IPA) at its annual IPA Technical Conference in Chicago in June as a color management system that will deliver a highly accurate proof to press sheet match. The product passed all 15 criteria in IPA’s Color Assurance Evaluation 2007.

Heidelberg’s Prinect MetaDimension is a RIP and workflow solution that significantly enhances the productivity of PDF workflows. Depending on the shop’s requirements, OPI, trapping, color management, innovative screening methods, impositioning, PPF connectivity and proofing solutions can be included when installing Prinect MetaDimension. Equipped with an intuitive user interface, Prinect Signa Station separates the folded and print sheets from each other, ensuring maximum flexibility. This differentiation of folded and print sheets enables printers to easily reconfigure a job for different presses in a matter of seconds. The solution also features extremely user-friendly operation, supported by a wizard that leads printers through the impositioning process step by step. To reduce makeready times in the press and postpress stages, Prinect Signa Station supplies pre-setting data for Prinect Auto Register, cutters, folders and saddlestitchers.
