Heidelberg Invites Printers to Experience Live, Integrated Print Shop at GRAPH EXPO 2008

September 2008
KENNESAW, GA—September 3, 2008—Heidelberg is inviting attendees of Graph Expo 2008 to see the latest equipment, technologies and workflow solutions in a running, completely integrated “print shop” environment. The “shop” will be located in Heidelberg’s booth #1200, which will demonstrate Heidelberg’s theme of “HEI Performance and HEI Value” through a range of featured prepress, commercial print, packaging, postpress, service and workflow solutions. Visitors to the Heidelberg booth will learn what it means to “Get Prinected” and experience the benefits of shop integration at the tradeshow, which will be held in Chicago at McCormick Place on Oct. 26-29.

Three times a day, visitors to the Heidelberg booth will be invited to Heidelberg’s main theater for a presentation highlighting the benefits of a fully integrated print shop workflow. Called “From the Front Office to the Loading Dock: the Competitive Advantage of a Fully Integrated Workflow,” the presentation will show that a print shop’s greatest strength is a workflow that can cope with complex processes and provide clear and simple answers.

“Integration in a print shop is an absolute ‘must have’ for printers to maintain a competitive advantage in the marketplace,” said Jim Dunn, president, Heidelberg USA. “In addition to our technologies and equipment for commercial and package printers, Heidelberg will place a particularly strong focus on our Prinect workflow solutions at this year’s Graph Expo to demonstrate the benefits of an integrated print shop.”

Booth visitors also can experience the latest in sheetfed technology. Making its U.S. debut at Graph Expo 2008 is the Heidelberg Speedmaster XL 105 press with perfecting unit, which is designed to optimize One-Pass Productivity for large-format printing. The XL 105-10P shown in the perfector configuration will run at speeds of up to 15,000 iph. In the straight printing configuration, the XL 105 can print at 18,000 iph. The XL 105 is perfect for commercial or packaging customers due to its ability to accommodate a wide range of substrates. Heidelberg has been the proven leader in perfecting technology with the Speedmaster SM 102, and with the launch of the XL 105 perfector, the bar has been raised in terms of pure output performance and quality. The XL 105-10P press shown at Graph Expo will feature Prinect Inpress Control, which won a 2008 InterTech Technology Award and is the first inline device for sheetfed presses that uses spectrophotometry to measure color and register while the press is running. Also shown on the XL 105-10P at Graph Expo will be Prinect Press Center, which features a 40” Wallscreen unit where all press conditions and operations can be viewed at a glance including color and register control. Prinect Press Center will be available for all new Speedmaster presses.
