Layoffs for Harland Clarke, Multi Packaging

GLEN BURNIE, MD—Integrated payment, marketing services and security solutions specialist Harland Clarke is cutting 125 jobs at its facility here, a process that will be completed by June 2013, according to The Baltimore Sun. The San Antonio-based firm said that impacted employees are encouraged to look for work elsewhere in the company’s chain of facilities.

According to the Sun, the Glen Burnie facility provides printing services for the direct marketing sector. Printing and production work will be relocated to plants in North Carolina and Arizona, with support services remaining here.

Elsewhere, Business First reported that Multi Packaging Solutions of Louisville, KY, is laying off 83 employees. The paper cited a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) notice filed with the Kentucky Division of Workforce and Employment Services.

The company employed 360 Louisville workers in 2010 at two plants. One facility let go 69 workers in 2011, according to Business First.
