Hallmark Cards Slashing About 750 Jobs Nationwide

KANSAS CITY, MO—Citing slumping sales, Hallmark Cards is cutting up to 750 jobs, representing about 8 percent of its U.S. workforce over the next six months, the Associated Press reported. Most of the cuts will be made in manufacturing and distribution. The company reported last month that 2008 revenues fell 2 percent to $4.3 billion as the recession has cut into consumer spending.
