GPO used security design and printing techniques to produce more than 280,000 tickets and more than 10,000 secure access credentials for the President’s Inauguration. GPO has a long history of contributing to the security of the nation by producing the U.S. passport for the Department of State and border crossing cards for the Department of Homeland Security. Producing security documents for the President’s inauguration is an extension of GPO serving as the provider of secure credentials for the Federal Government.
“I am proud of GPO’s employees for their dedication to this project and diligence in working with the Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies to produce all of these materials in time for the President’s Inauguration,” said Acting Public Printer Davita Vance-Cooks. “GPO’s role in producing inaugural materials is another example of how GPO is official, digital, and secure in carrying out its mission of Keeping America Informed.”
