Industry Mourns Passing of Braceland

PHILADELPHIA—George Braceland, 96, long a staple of printing in the City of Brotherly Love and an accomplished masters decathlete, died June 10, according to his son. Mr. Braceland's father and uncle founded the family printing shop, Braceland Bros., in 1899. He was chosen as the "Neographics Person of the Year" in 2003 as a recognition of his many years of service and innovation in the graphic arts industry. Mr. Braceland traveled the world competing as a masters decathlete, and continued to do so past the age of 90. He was elected to the Masters Hall of Fame in 2002 by USA Masters Track & Field. At age 65, he received a black belt in karate.
