Four Graphics Moves into New Facility

January 1999
LAKE MARY, FL—Prominent Florida-based commercial printer Four Graphics has officially celebrated the opening of its new 60,000-square-foot facility here, bringing the company closer to a new marketing niche of high-tech telecommunications and computer software providers.

With a 20-percent increase in sales over the past year, and a phenomenal 400-percent increase over the past four, Four Graphics' previous 10,000-square-foot facility was proving much too small to accommodate the company's recent investments in extensive digital prepress, press and bindery equipment.

Along with the new facility comes the opportunity for technical growth. One of the last steps of Four Graphics' relocation included the installation of a high-tech, six-color, 28˝ Komori with a built-in aqueous coater, and a two-color, 40˝ Komori perfecting press. With the capability of printing on both sides, the perfecting press more than triples the company's printing capabilities when combined with its existing equipment.

But with heavy investments in new machinery and the upgrading of equipment, personalized service has increasingly become an important issue to clients. With this emphasis, Four Graphics has been required to increase its staff and the services it offers.

Currently, Four Graphics employs 85-plus individuals and is hiring new staff by the day. In the past year, the company has enlarged both its production and graphic arts departments, as well as incorporated a public relations department into the business.

Co-founder Carl Simpkins attributes much of the company's success to the good fortune of attracting highly trained and highly skilled individuals who support the company's objective of providing "unfaltering personal service, high-quality printing solutions and high-quality products to the customer."

Expanding further, Emily Finegold, director of PR/marketing, comments, "This company is truly unique and stands out from the others in its approach to the client. The one thing that really shines is the overall feeling of a team at work."

Continuing on that note, she points out, "This is a family-run business, and the sense of family trickles down...making it easier to work as a team, and employees are more willing to go the extra mile for every job."
