Ex-Worker Arrested for Making Threats

November 15, 2013
FORT WORTH, TX—A former worker at the Star-Telegram printing plant was arrested last weekend following a series of threats he allegedly made against the company, the newspaper itself reported. Marcus Brooks, 20, faces a third-degree felony charge of making a terroristic threat.

Brooks, who was fired June 28 after working at the plant less than a year, was a part-time packaging inserter. The threats were reported via a 911 call on Nov. 8, and the facility was put on lockdown during the initial investigation, the Star-Telegram said. Officials would not reveal the nature or content of the alleged threats.

There was no information available on the reason why Brooks was fired.

The Star-Telegram is transitioning its printing to The Dallas Morning News' production facility in Plano, TX, beginning early next year, which will result in the loss of more than 75 full-time and 200 part-time jobs.
