Donnelley Heads List of Plant Closures

CHICAGO—RR Donnelley served notice to the former Heartland Press plant in Spencer, IA, that it planned to close for good by March 13. The move leaves 160 employees without jobs. The plant was obtained by Donnelley in the Perry Judd's acquisition.

Book printer Courier Corp. and label specialist Multi-Color Corp. each announced plant closures. Courier, of North Chelmsford, MA, is shutting down Book-mart Press of North Bergen, NJ, a 72-employee operation it acquired in 1997. The facility is expected to close its doors by mid-March.
