RR Donnelley Shuttering CT Plant, 117 Jobs Lost

CHICAGO—RR Donnelley will close its Windsor, CT, facility in March, resulting in 117 lost jobs, the Hartford Courant reported. Donnelley notified the state Department of Labor in compliance with the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act.

Jim Burke, Windsor economic development director, told the Courant that the Donnelley building once housed Aetna’s in-plant printing shop. When Aetna sold it to Donnelley in 1996, there were 400 employees there.

The paper also said that Donnelley was once Old Saybrook’s largest employer, but 500 people lost their jobs when the plant there was closed in 2002.
