Datatech SmartSoft Completes Acquisition of PressWise

AGOURA HILLS, CA—September 8, 2010—Datatech SmartSoft Inc., a leading player in the address correction and mailing software industry, today announced that it has completed its acquisition of PressWise Inc., the end-to-end Web storefront and print workflow software provider. Datatech SmartSoft has held exclusive distribution rights to PressWise since September 2009.

“The acquisition of PressWise is an important step in the continued growth of Datatech SmartSoft,” said SmartSoft President Michael Shroyer. “PressWise has allowed us to complement and expand our product line beyond the addressing and mailing software such as AccuMail and SmartAddresser that we are known for, and focus on new lines of business with tremendous growth opportunities over the next few years. We bring to new and existing customers, such as Printers and Mail Houses, a complete solution for managing their entire print business, including the ability to manage their mailings from within the PressWise system.”

The PressWise brand is being managed by its founder, Eric Wold, who pioneered the unique SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) technology that allows printers to run a powerful print management solution with reduced installation times and maintenance costs.

“The Datatech SmartSoft relationship was the catalyst in what has turned out to be a very successful year for PressWise” said Mr. Wold. “The distribution, sales and marketing infrastructure has been instrumental in us achieving triple digit growth in our install base, while benefitting from the substantial IT and other cost savings that being part of a larger software company brings.

“As the print world continues to evolve, with printers transforming themselves into complete marketing services providers, and being expected to offer more services to their customers more efficiently, PressWise is well positioned to help them meet the challenge. We look forward to announcing new features, partners and improvements to PressWise over the coming months, and expect to be very busy at the upcoming GraphExpo show in Chicago in October.”
