The National Association for Printing Leadership (NAPL) named KBA North America the 2010 Industry Award recipient at its recent Top Management Conference. The award recognized the press manufacturer's leadership in the large-format market and its new technology center located in Dallas.
Pitney Bowes has appointed Joseph Timko as executive vice president and chief strategy and innovation officer. He succeeds David Dobson, who was recently named executive vice president and president, Pitney Bowes management services.
Brian Bostrom has joined e-LYNXX Corp. as client services manager, responsible for working with national clients in the company's American Print Management (print procurement) division. He most recently served at Printwell Printing Acquisitions.
Objectif Lune has acquired Edmond Document Solutions, based in the Netherlands. Both entities will keep their respective names, facilities and staffs.
Essex Products Group (EPG) has been named the worldwide distributor for Colortronix LLC. The new products introduced last year from Colortronix are now marketed by EPG under the Adelphi brand label. The agreement expands EPG's capabilities to serve printers that use other manufacturers' ink control systems or color measurement equipment.
TRESU Royse has installed its first UniPrint Combi pressurized chamber doctor blade system on a six-color Mitsubishi V3000LX-6 sheetfed press at the MLP U.S.A. demo room in Lincolnshire, IL. It is said to prevent air from building up in the chamber cavity, eliminating foam buildup in the coating supply chamber.
At On Demand Machinery, Erin Riley has been named technical sales manager based out of the company's West Coast sales office in Washington.
Three appointments have been made at BÖWE BELL + HOWELL (BBH). John Tarascio has been promoted to COO. Mike Maselli has been promoted to vice president of marketing and product management. And, Gordon Galloway is the company's new director of inserting product marketing. In other company news, BBH has filed for two patents involving materials designs and mailing applications to support its MAILStream Inveloper finishing system.
A distribution agreement has been made between INX International Ink and FloClear LLC, wherein INX sheetfed and web offset customers now have access to FloClear fountain solution recycling systems.
Printing Industries of America (PIA), along with its Ben Franklin Honor Society, has named Dr. Peter Crean as its Robert F. Reed Technology Medal recipient. Dr. Crean, research fellow for the Xerox Innovation Group, has been credited as one of the three members of the initial engineering team that produced the first laser printer in 1970. For the past 20 years, he has also been a leading member of all Xerox color programs and was the founder of the Xerox color management group.
