Press With Closed-Loop Color Control System Helps Printer Reduce Waste
HOUSTON—PrintMailers, a marketing communications service provider based here, recently installed a six-color, 29˝ Komori Lithrone SX29 (LSX629) sheetfed press with automation features. "We really liked the fact the LSX629 offered a closed-loop color control system that makes it possible to match colors to a proof much closer than we could before," says Steve Johns, president of PrintMailers.
He adds that the press can get up to color 25 percent faster than the company's other equipment, and works with a range of paper thicknesses and special options.
New Prepress and Postpress Devices Have Improved Trade Shop's Workflow
POMPANO BEACH, FL—Florida Trade Graphics, a provider of printing and binding services for trade printers and print brokers nationwide, has installed a Heidelberg Suprasetter 105 CTP device and a Stahlfolder TH 82 with VSA stacker.
Since the new platesetter began imaging Heidelberg Saphira Chemfree plates for the company's six-color Speedmaster CD 102, Florida Trade Graphics President and CEO Dennis McNaney reports improved print quality across the board. He adds that the new Suprasetter has increased the company's ability to run cleaner and greener because it uses less power, and without the addition of chemical influences.
BIRMINGHAM—EBSCO Media, a division of EBSCO Industries, has expanded its Collegiate Athletic Communications Div., which allows it to continue to provide service to its current clients, while also servicing the needs of other athletic departments throughout the country.
MADISON—The purchase of a second 10-color Harris M-110 heatset web press has helped ColorXPress increase its production capabilities for publication work. The company also installed another Videojet address and tabbing line to help handle the demand for its customers' direct mail needs.
MILAN—All three operating units at Group O have been recertified in the ISO 9001:2008 standard for quality management systems. In addition, Group O's handset logistics unit achieved TL 9000 certification for the supply chain/fulfillment services it provides to wireless telecom companies.
INDIANAPOLIS—HardingPoorman Group has added five new pieces of quality assurance equipment to its platform. They include: a prepress file validation system; a pharmaceutical folder camera verification system; an inserter match mail/verification system; an inkjet verification system; and a saddlestitching machine signature recognition system.
