Press With Closed-Loop Color Control System Helps Printer Reduce Waste

HOUSTON—PrintMailers, a marketing communications service provider based here, recently installed a six-color, 29˝ Komori Lithrone SX29 (LSX629) sheetfed press with automation features. "We really liked the fact the LSX629 offered a closed-loop color control system that makes it possible to match colors to a proof much closer than we could before," says Steve Johns, president of PrintMailers.

He adds that the press can get up to color 25 percent faster than the company's other equipment, and works with a range of paper thicknesses and special options.

New Prepress and Postpress Devices Have Improved Trade Shop's Workflow

POMPANO BEACH, FL—Florida Trade Graphics, a provider of printing and binding services for trade printers and print brokers nationwide, has installed a Heidelberg Suprasetter 105 CTP device and a Stahlfolder TH 82 with VSA stacker.

Since the new platesetter began imaging Heidelberg Saphira Chemfree plates for the company's six-color Speedmaster CD 102, Florida Trade Graphics President and CEO Dennis McNaney reports improved print quality across the board. He adds that the new Suprasetter has increased the company's ability to run cleaner and greener because it uses less power, and without the addition of chemical influences.
