New 41˝ UV Press Targets High-Quality Marketplace
OMAHA, NE—Printco Graphics is strengthening its growth trajectory by adding a five-color, 41˝ KBA Rapida 105 UV press with coater in its 78,000-square-foot facility. The firm has posted a 20 percent sales increase during the past year.
The new press will run in tandem with a sister six-color, 41˝ KBA Rapida 105 press with aqueous coater that was installed in 2007.
“Our goal is to strengthen production, increase workflow and keep up with demand,” reported Larry Reding, president of Printco Graphics. “After installing this press, Printco will be the first offset printer in Nebraska to offer UV ink capabilities.”
Trade Shop Expands to Meet Turnaround Times
DEER PARK, NY—Commercial trade printer All Color Business Specialties needed a press that would accommodate the rising demand for four- and five-color printed products with full ink coverage, delivered on an increasingly tight schedule. The company’s existing Heidelberg Speedmaster SM 74 was already running 24/7.
The need gave rise to the company’s decision to install a five-color Speedmaster XL 75 press with Inpress Control, 18,000 sph Peak Performance package, aqueous coater, extended delivery and water-cooled peripherals.
“We produced more than two million impressions in just the first six weeks of production,” said company president and co-owner William Bogue. “Some of our makereadies have clocked in at under five minutes, and we’ve run close to 200 plates in a single day. We also found that we could set up and run 40,000 sheets in two-and-a-half hours.”
