Printer Boosts Efficiency With New Sheetfed Model
HOUSTON—Since adding a new six-color Heidelberg Speedmaster CX 102 UV-ready press in May, DiscPro Graphics has already produced 2.5 million impressions, and has reported 75 percent faster makereadies and run speeds of 16,500 iph.
According to DiscPro President Dale Morris, the CX 102 already produces as much or more than the company’s existing 40˝ and 28˝ presses combined—while reducing man hours and material waste.
Morris chose the press because of its easy convertibility to UV mode since the company may transition to mixed-UV printing down the road. He also liked its touchscreen controls, Inkline automatic ink feed, extended delivery and press-side Axis Control color measurement system.
Marrs Differentiates Itself With Cold Foiling System
CITY OF INDUSTRY, CA—Marrs Printing & Packaging has installed an Eco-Eagle cold foil system from Graphic Arts Systems on an existing six-color, 40˝ manroland 700 UV-equipped press with coater. According to Marrs President and CEO Walt Marrs, “We wanted to be able to offer customers something that no one else has, providing them with faster turnaround, reduced costs and an environmentlly-friendly solution.”
Marrs adds that the installation was also quite smooth. The entire Eco-Eagle cold foil installation process took less than a week. He says they were able to take on a production run immediately after the installation and after a few hours of training. “This provided value because we weren’t down on press time.”
