Mollet Printing Opts for Chem-Free Thermal CTP System
PORTLAND, OR—Mollet Printing has installed a Suprasetter A75 computer-to-plate (CTP) device with dual-cassette loader, together with Heidelberg’s Prinect Prepress Manager P workflow solution.
“We wanted to get out of the chemistry business,” notes Dave Mollet, president and CEO, referring to the competitive violet system he replaced. “So, we went thermal and chemistry-free.”

Wide-Format Inkjet Printer Helps Jarob Inc. Reclaim Outsourced Jobs
GRAND RAPIDS, MI—Since installing its new six-color Inca Onset S40 wide-format inkjet printer from Fujifilm, Jarob Inc. has reclaimed about 80 percent of the work that it previously had to outsource, while also providing a four-fold increase in capacity, faster turnarounds and more competitive pricing.
“The S40 gives us the advantage in the 500 to 750 impressions range,” says Andrew Bishop, director of sales, marketing and design at Jarob. “We now have the ability to go after jobs we may not have bid on before, or jobs where our pricing could not be competitive.”
Shortly after the Inca Onset S40 was up and running, Jarob held an open house to introduce its capabilities. “Seeing it live gave it a real ’wow’ factor,” note Doug VanPortfleet, chairman and CEO.
Wild Apple Graphics Makes Printing A Fine Art, Literally
WOODSTOCK, VT—Wild Apple Graphics, an art publisher and licenser to the trade, has purchased a new MGI Meteor DP60 Pro digital press to handle shorter print runs, decrease turnaround times and target new markets.
Wild Apple produces art prints and sells them to retail framers, who then sell the finished, “ready to hang” prints to national and regional retail chains (like Bed Bath & Beyond and Target), as well as to furniture stores, the hospitality industry and others.
