Charlotte, NC-based Classic Graphics CEO David Pitts received the 2013 Walter E. Soderstrom Award at PRINT 13 from the National Association for Printing Leadership. In other Classic Graphics news, Dan Hamm has been appointed business analyst/project manager; and Desirae Woofter has been hired as program manager to oversee customers' intricate mailing programs. In Raleigh, NC, the company appointed James O'Rourke Triangle Division president.

A manufacturer of magazines, newspapers and niche publications based in Philadelphia, Bartash has appointed direct mail veteran Gale Allen as its mail list/fulfillment manager. Allen currently sits on the Southern New Jersey Postal Customer Council Board.

Adam Avrick, president of Design Distributors in Deer Park, NY, received the United States Postal Service Postal Customer Council's (PCC) National Industry Member of the Year Gold Award. He was recognized for his dedicated work as industry co-chair of the Long Island PCC chapter.

Joining Canfield & Tack in Rochester, NY, are Tom Excell, senior account executive, and Laura Nadeau, customer service representative. Both most recently worked for Brodock Press.

The Printing and Graphics Association MidAtlantic has welcomed three new members to its board of directors: Benny Bowman, president of Worth Higgins and Associates; Gary Habicht, president of Printing Specialist; and Ray Zancan, president of Zancan Press.

Patrick Martell, CEO of St. Ives Group in London, has been appointed as Ipex 2014 president. In this role, he will chair the Ipex 360 steering committee leading up to the trade show next year.

David Marks has joined Publishers Press, headquartered in Shepherdsville, KY, as its Northeast regional sales manager. He replaces Darryl Wiggins who, after relocating for Publishers Press to Chicago, will now manage the upper Midwest.

Public Printer Davita Vance-Cooks has named James Bradley as Deputy Public Printer at the U.S. Government Printing Office (GPO) in Washington, DC, the second-highest ranking position at the agency. In addition, she named Herbert Jackson Jr. chief administrative officer.

Intelligencer Printing, Lancaster, PA, has hired Don Richardson as pressroom manager. In addition, Karen Peiffer was promoted to vice president of client services and Todd Foster has assumed the role of senior director of marketing and business development.

McClung Cos., located in Waynesboro, VA, has selected Marcus O'Malley as a new account manager. He will cover northern Virginia and Washington, DC.

Betty VanGroder has been promoted to vice president of client services at GLS Cos. in Brooklyn Park, MN.
