Quad/Graphics, Sussex, WI, received the highest Research Intensity score in the Heavy Industrial Equipment scorecard, in the September 14, 2009, edition of the The Wall Street Journal. The company was the only printer among the Top 50 patent holders listed. It also ranked in the top five for Industry Impact.
Three appointments have been made at Baltimore-based Victor Graphics. Robert Deal, who formerly worked in sales for The P.A. Hutchison Co. and Port City Press, has joined as a new Mid-Atlantic salesperson. Randy Mitzelfelt has been promoted to director of operations. Also promoted was John Beall, to director of sales.
Debbie Aker was recently hired as the new director of customer service at Portland, OR-based Wright Enterprises (parent company of Wright Business Graphics, Wright Imaging and Wright Business Graphics of California). She most recently worked as a customer service manager at WorkflowOne’s Portland division.
Barbara Buzzi is the new client solutions specialist at Lawrence, KS-based Allen Press. She most recently served as senior client services specialist at Dartmouth Journal Services.
Maywood, NJ-based Dolce Brothers Printing has named Patrick Pagani as its new general manager. He formerly served as vice president and COO at Ramsey Press, which closed its doors recently.
Seven employees have earned their Color Management Professional (CMP) certification at Indianapolis-based HardingPoorman Group. The new CMP associates include Bill Burdine, Robert Burger, Gary Galvin, Lynn Lear, Max Phillips, Deniece Pride and Kevin Treece.
