Command Web Embarks on Expansion
JEFFERSON CITY, MO—Command Web, a book printer that counts Scholastic among its publishing customers, got a boost this week from Jefferson City Council, which approved the sale of $22.5 million worth of taxable bonds to finance the company's expansion project, which could create 50 or more jobs and includes a 45,000-square-foot expansion, KRCG-TV reported.
A new printing press and binding line, along with additional support equipment, will be included in the project, Command Web Plant Manager Chris Huckleberry told the station. The company reaps some advantages going the bond route, including a lower interest rate and tax abatement, noted Jefferson City attorney Nathan Nikolas. Command Web will repay the city via lease payments.
