Highlights at this year’s show include:
Production Solutions
Since its introduction in 2006, Canon’s award-winning imagePRESS line has helped print service providers and marketing service organizations automate their workflows and expand their business offerings by providing high-quality digital presses that can be configured to meet individual business’ needs. Building upon the success of the Canon imagePRESS C7000VP and imagePRESS C6000 – both of which will be on display at the show – Canon will also showcase the imagePRESS C1+, which utilizes a clear toner station, and announce the availability of the imagePRESS 1135/1125/1110 Black and White Digital Presses.
The addition of the Canon imagePRESS C1+ and the imagePRESS 1135/1125/1110 Black and White Digital Presses, both introduced during Graph Expo 2008, will expand the capabilities and reach of the imagePRESS product line. The imagePRESS C1+, designed for the graphic and creative markets, is the first device of its size and speed to offer a clear toner station, greatly expanding the design elements and features that can be included in prints.
The Canon imagePRESS 1135/1125/1110 Black and White Digital Presses combines Canon’s wealth of knowledge in monochrome printing with the successful core architecture and reliability of the imagePRESS line to offer a highly customizable black-and-white digital press. Through utilizing Canon’s unique Twin Sleeve Technology, the imagePRESS 1135/1125/1110 produces monochrome prints at a quality level never before seen in an electrophotographic device. By offering an extremely versatile and customizable black-and-white digital press, the imagePRESS 1135/1125/1110 Black and White Digital Press allows printers to more effectively manage their customers’ printing needs while streamlining workflow and project management in a more cost effective manner.
In addition to the Canon imagePRESS 1135/1125/1110 Black and White Digital Presses, the latest version of the imageWARE Prepress Manager, a comprehensive document and production workflow tool, was introduced. Building upon imageWARE Prepress Manager's ease-of-use and integration with imagePRESS devices, imageWARE Prepress Manager v1.3 includes improved chapter manipulation and job subsetting abilities, as well as functionality specific to the new imagePRESS 1135/1125/1110. imageWARE Prepress Manager can be combined with the updated imageWARE Print Job Manager to create an efficient print center with the imagePRESS 1135/1125/1110. Print Job Manager v1.2 allows users to manage printing tasks, utilize the functions to send jobs to the imagePRESS, as well as monitoring and controlling jobs and printers. imageWARE Prepress Manager enables printers to spend less time learning how to impose and configure print settings for a document and more time producing books, manuals, brochures, proposals, and other mission-critical documents for their customers.
Corporate Solutions
With a wide array of business solutions for both large and small enterprises, Canon helps address customer and industry specific needs in the marketplace. One of Canon’s most advanced and versatile business solutions featured this year is uniFLOW Output Manager. Unveiled in October 2008, uniFLOW Output Manager is a highly flexible software solution that is ideally suited for effectively managing output within general office enterprises and production print operations. While uniFLOW Output Manager excels in managing output in these environments individually, its unique ability to effectively tie office enterprises and production operations together provides customers with comprehensive capabilities in driving output to the most ideal location while minimizing output costs.
In addition to Canon’s leading software solutions for the workplace, both large and small office environments have utilized Canon’s imageRUNNER product line to help streamline workflows while meeting all the imaging and printing needs they may have. Featured at this year’s event will be numerous imageRUNNER models such as the MEAP enabled (Multifunctional Embedded Application Platform) Color imageRUNNER C5185 and solution demonstrations that are tightly connected to customer business workflows. Through these demonstrations, customers will be able to clearly see how Canon technology can be utilized to simplify work processes, improve document distribution, management and security, ease end user challenges with using technology, and deliver significant economic value.
Image Filing Solutions
Building upon the extremely successful imageFORMULA ScanFront 220 and ScanFront 220p, Canon today introduced its latest document distribution solutions, the imageFORMULA ScanFront 220e and ScanFront 220eP Compact Network Scanners. The new ScanFront 220e/220eP scanners, powered by eCopy ShareScan, deliver state-of-the-art image capture and intuitive document sharing through seamless integration with existing networks, workflows and applications. The ScanFront 220e/220eP scanners are embedded with eCopy ShareScan, a powerful document imaging software platform that easily converts paper documents into images that integrate into any network applications.
By incorporating eCopy ShareScan technology within Canon’s ScanFront and imageRUNNER technologies, Canon provides a consistent scanning interface and platform for customers regardless of the hardware they choose. Canon’s offering ensures that customers can select the Canon hardware that is most aptly suited for their distributed capture requirements.
Also on display during this year’s show is the high-speed imageFORMULA DR-X10C color production scanner, the compact imageFORMULA DR-2510C Workgroup Scanner, and the flexible imageFORMULA DR-7090C Universal Production Scanner. These large format printers deliver targeted, precision solutions that ensure top performance and compatibility for photo, graphic, general use, CAD, and other technical document markets. During this year’s show, Canon will showcase its popular imagePROGRAF iPF8000S, which utilizes eight LUCIA pigment inks to offer an extremely wide color gamut, and the imagePROGRAF iPF820, which address the document production needs of medium to large-sized corporations and reprographic establishments. Both the iPF8000S and the iPF820 can print borderless images up to 42-inches wide, can handle a maximum paper width of 44-inches, and offers high-resolution printing up to 2400 x 1200 dots-per-inch (dpi). With large format models ranging from 17-inches up to 60-inches, the Canon imagePROGRAF series offers versatile, precision printing options in the large format market.
Software Solutions
In addition to demonstrating a number of its imageWARE software solutions and uniFLOW Output Manager, Canon will introduce the imageWARE Scan Manager Connector v1.0 for Microsoft Office SharePoint Server.
As a high-volume batch document capture application, imageWARE Scan Manager offers robust document capture capabilities at an affordable price. With features including bar code and forms recognition, zonal OCR and automatic indexing, imageWARE Scan Manager delivers extensive document capture support capable of creating automated advanced capture workflows. With imageWARE Scan Manager Connector v1.0 for Microsoft Office SharePoint Server, customers who have built data repositories using Microsoft SharePoint Server will be capable of leveraging imageWARE Scan Manager to directly deliver fully indexed document images to Microsoft Office SharePoint Server repositories.
Canon’s Automated Capturing Solutions with imageWARE Scan Manager Connector v1.0 for Microsoft Office SharePoint Server can be seen at both the Canon and Microsoft (Booth # 901) booths at the show.

In these challenging times, maximizing returns from one’s digital technologies is critical.
