C2 Imaging Acquires Five HP Indigo Digital Presses
ST. PAUL, MN—Nov. 22, 2010—C2 Imaging LLC, a Vomela affiliated company, recently announced the purchase and installation of five HP Indigo 5500 digital presses. The new presses have been installed in C2 locations across the United States, including New York, Chicago, Houston, Denver and Washington, DC.
C2 Imaging’s small-format printing expertise dates back to 1980. Originally utilizing a direct-to-print photographic process, C2 introduced digital laser color printing in the early 1980s with the original Canon Color T copier. Since that time, C2 established itself as a leading provider of corporate sales and marketing collateral in the United States.
“The HP Indigo is the next step in the continuing evolution of small-format printing technology. The outstanding quality, speed and flexibility are ideally suited for our core business: short run, print-on-demand and web-to-print applications which help our clients better reach their customers,” says Tim Wieland, president.
All five presses were installed with special-effect ink kits (white and digital matte) and thick substrate upgrades. These added features were specifically chosen to augment the company’s strength in the large-format retail signage space. C2’s explosive growth in large-format retail POS/POP has been fueled by advances in flat bed printing technology and the ability to print direct to a wide variety of substrates.
Michael Korth, senior vice president, said, “The marriage of unique inks and thick substrate upgrades enable to us to more closely align our production technologies resulting in increased efficiency and speed-to-market for our customers.”
