Great Lakes Bindery Obtains Eurobind 1300 PUR Adhesive Binding System; First U.S. Installation

WYOMING, MI—When Great Lakes Bindery needed a perfect binder that could deliver greater speed and productivity, the company opted for a four-clamp Eurobind 1300 PUR adhesive binding system from Heidelberg, the first to be installed in the United States. The binder features a PUR nozzle application system that works by the volumetric principle and is driven by a gear pump that ensures uniform application of adhesive to each book block. It also automatically calculates the required feed rate.

"The Eurobind 1300 is ideal for processing short-run work because we spend minimal time on makeready, meaning we can produce jobs efficiently and deliver them faster (up to 1,300 cycles/hr.)" said Matt Landheer, general manager.
