BINDERY matters

University Printer Adds New Folder

KNOXVILLE, TN—The Graphic Arts Services department at The University of Tennessee here has acquired a fully automated two-station Stahlfolder USA B20 with gatefold attachment. Replacing an aging, semi-automated model, the new Stahlfolder adds touchscreen setup, programmability, and the ability to store and recall folding programs used in the production of a wide variety of brochures, newsletters, and small-signature booklets and forms.

According to Jack Williams, Graphic Arts and Mail Services acting director, the labor-saving, automated features of the new folder have made the shop more productive and efficient, as well as limited its need to outsource or rely on hand-finishing and work-arounds for gatefolded products. Williams also notes that the operators especially like the automated fold plate setup.
