Finishing Supplier Changes Structure

HANOVER PARK, IL—Gämmerler, a supplier of materials handling and in-line finishing equipment, is implementing a new global organizational structure designed to unify the company's resources to improve customer support on a global basis. This includes the formation of a senior level, global management team with collective responsibility for worldwide service, sales, marketing, finance, engineering and order management functions.

Open House has Post-Drupa Flavor

ROSELAND, NJ—In November, Bobst Group USA held its "Direction '04" open house, the North American launch and domestic premier of the 12 new products announced earlier this year at Drupa in Germany. During the three-day open house, U.S. converters had the opportunity to get first-hand experience with Bobst's latest releases, including nine machines running live production. Five new diecutters and foil stampers, as well as four new folder/gluers, were shown, among other equipment. Attendees were also treated to a "Night at the Races" dinner and entertainment.

Bindery Leaders Show Newest Technologies

WESTAMPTON, NJ—MBO America, Muller Martini and Colter & Peterson teamed up last month to display their latest technologies and workflow connectivity at an open house held here at MBO America. Displaying the latest offerings shown at Drupa and Graph Expo, highlights included the East Coast premier of MBO's fully automated Perfection folder, as well as Muller Martini's Valore saddlestitcher with a Palamides alpha500 stacking delivery.

Also shown were an Ehret UW-52/520 unwinder and VC520 C sheeter with variable chip-out and the MBO B26-S Perfection eight-page unit producing two-up letter folds from the web at a rate of 80,000/hr. (40,000/hr. one-up) and paperbanded by a Palamides BA-700.

European Finishing Event Scheduled

LUCERNE, SWITZERLAND—Hunkeler will host its InnovationDays from February 14-17, where international experts and professionals from the areas of print-on-demand, data centers, mailroom, web finishing and paper waste disposal will gather to see live demonstrations of the latest paper processing solutions and applications. InnovationDays will take place at the Lucerne trade fair complex on the shores of Lake Lucerne.

Hunkeler has organized this sixth bi-annual showcase in partnership with other digital printing and inserting companies, with more than 60 companies represented. The event promises significant technology premiers, with a broad range of live applications that span the full spectrum of digital printing and paper handling. Standard Finishing Systems is the North American distributor for Hunkeler paper processing equipment.
