Learn to Leverage Automation at Toronto Event

May 7, 2010
PITTSBURGH—May 6, 2010—Printing Industries of America and the International Cooperation for the Integration of Processes in Prepress, Press and Post Press (CIP4) Organization will host an Automation Solutions Network Event in Toronto, ON. This event will take place on June 15-16, and feature presentations and discussions from industry leaders and experts on automation as well as a tour of Ampersand Printing—the multiple CIP4 CIPPI-award-winner and implementers of a streamlined JDF workflow.

The Automation Solutions Network Event brings together users and vendors of automation to create a forum where neophytes can find answers to their questions while those who have been harnessing automation for years can discuss and share ideas with their peers. This meeting will provide the opportunity to learn how automation can increase your bottom line, amplify ROI, improve your product, and streamline makeready.

Attendees of the meeting will be able to tour the 2009 CIP4 International Print Production Innovation award winner for Best Process Automation Implementation--North America--Ampersand Printing. As visitors tour Ampersand Printing's state-of-the-art facility, they'll experience how Ampersand Printing has drastically reduced makeready and increased efficiency to a level that allowed the amount of work that had regularly been completed during two shifts to now be done in only one thanks to JDF and the automated makeready process. Additionally, members of Ampersand Printing will be on-hand to take questions during one of the meeting sessions.

This is the perfect networking opportunity and a great venue to glimpse the future of automation technologies as Marcia Bonsell, former vice president of production at Communicorp, Inc, attests, "Being affiliated with the Automation Solutions Network allows Communicorp to stay abreast with the technologies in the marketplace, without being vendor specific. We exchange pain points as well as our various and often creative ways to achieve integration."

Printers on the fence about automation will come away from this event inspired and excited to begin the implementation process, while those who done so already have will learn valuable tips and tricks to become even more efficient. The Automation Solutions Network welcomes a wide range of users of automation systems as well as the suppliers of those systems.
