AGI’s Christopher Smith to Present Keynote Address at GOA 2012

January 27, 2012
ORLANDO—Jan. 27, 2012—George Ryan, president of The Printing Association of Florida’s Graphics of the Americas Expo & Conference (GOA), announced that American Graphics Institute’s (AGI) Christopher Smith will present this year’s keynote address at GOA 2012. The keynote will take place on Thursday, March 1, 2012, at 9 a.m.

The full Graphics of the Americas event will run March 1-3, 2012, at the Miami Beach Convention Center in Miami Beach, FL.

In his “Publishing 2012” address, publishing technology expert Christopher Smith will help attendees gain an understanding of new and emerging devices, tools and applications that are changing the way content is consumed and delivered. Putting ink on paper is no longer enough, as customers expect to find their favorite content on electronic devices—smart phones, tablets, e-readers, etc.—in addition to print.

This highly informative session, essential for anyone working in the publishing field now, or moving forward, will address topics such as:

• Achieving a better understanding of the major forces impacting graphics, media, and publishing firms; and ways to use new media, new tools, and new technologies to become empowered as an individual, and as a business.

• Devices and tools that are reshaping the way content is created and viewed.

• How to get content onto multiple platforms, including those from Apple, Google, and Microsoft.

• Ways for businesses to adapt to succeed as a modern publisher.

Ryan says, “We are very pleased that AGI’s Chris Smith will be presenting this year’s keynote. His role as president of the American Graphics Institute, coupled with his experience supervising the Digital Classroom series, and leadership in other strategic areas; makes his counsel a tremendous asset in our industry.”
