Printer Has 700 Reasons to Celebrate
BEAVERTON, OR—Paramount Graphics’ new MAN Roland six-color 700 sheetfed press with an in-line double coating unit was the centerpiece of an open house the printer conducted in September. The event attracted more than 275 print buyers and graphic arts executives. The company demonstrated the new press’ capabilities by running a project for telecommunications leader T-Mobile.
IRVINE—Main Graphics has added a Creo Trendsetter 400 Spectrum and an EPSON Stylus Pro 7600. Both items complement a Ryobi 525 press with coater that was added earlier in the year.
LOS ANGELES—A new four-color, 181⁄8×22˝ Sakurai 458EII automated press has been installed at Genesis Printing.
SACRAMENTO—The K/P Corp. facility here has received ISO 9002 certification. K/P’s Northern California Mail and Fulfillment Division, which also includes ISO-certified facilities in San Leandro and Silicon Valley, is reportedly one of the few mail and fulfillment operations on the West Coast that carries the distinction of ISO certification.
OCALA—Strategic Business Forms (SBF) has purchased an A.B.Dick DPM2340 direct-to-plate system and an A.B.Dick 9995A-ICS twin-tower portrait press.
SARASOTA—A six-color Komori Lithrone 28 press with coater and a two-color Lithrone 26 are now operational at Tropical Printing.
SUNRISE—Commercial printer MOR Printing has automated the production of coating blankets by installing a Gerber Sector coating blanket cutter.
EDWARDS—Wayne/Wagoner Printing has signed a deal to implement “THE System” business management software from CRC Information Systems. Wayne/Wagoner will implement a fully integrated software solution including THE System’s Commercial Estimating and Dynamic Scheduling modules.
ORLAND PARK—Two Komori presses have been installed at Force Enterprises: a two-color, 28˝ Sprint perfector and a five-color Lithrone 28.
VERNON HILLS—Aim Graphic Machines has purchased a five-color Komori Lithrone 28 press.
HARAHAN—Hauser Printing, a full-service commercial facility serving the New Orleans metropolitan area, is installing a new Presto saddle stitching system from Muller Martini. Established in 1898, Hauser Printing produces an extensive menu of products, ranging from brochures and newsletters to magazines and fine art prints. In addition to its saddle stitching capabilities, Hauser’s bindery produces spiral and perfect bound books, as well as pocket folders.
