FREMONT—Spectrum Lithograph has purchased the Kawahara TXR- 1100 series blank separator. Spectrum Lithograph utilizes the new investment for blanking packaging boxes, CD wallets and more.
MODESTO—A Rilecart PB-796 automatic punch bind machine has been chosen by John F. Turner Co. for production of calendars. The installation was performed by Pigna America.
HARTFORD—Lebon Press has announced its expansion of services with the installation a six color, 40˝ Heidelberg Speedmaster press complete with perfecting and coating capabilities, as well as a six-pocket Muller Martini 235 saddlestitcher and a 26×40˝ continuous-fed TF-66 Stahl folder with gatefold capability.
SANDY HOOK—Curtis Packaging is now operating a new 10-station, 51˝ KBA Rapida press with UV drying and dispersion coater.
MIAMI—Quality Business Cards is now operating a Kluge EHD series automatic press. It plans to use its new press to add value to their business card production services.
SARASOTA—Serbin Printing received four awards at the 2004 ADDY Awards from the American Advertising Federation (AAF) of the Suncoast. The company received two gold and two Amy Award distinctions.
ATLANTA—Family owned commercial printer Tucker-Castleberry Printing has added a third six-color Roland 700 press with in-line coating to its pressroom. The company is further taking advantage of the installation by connecting the PECOM press operating and automation system to all three of its MAN Roland presses.
NORCROSS—Brandon’s Printing is celebrating its 20th year in business. The Atlanta-area printer employs a staff of 74.
CARPENTERSVILLE—A six-color Komori Lithrone 40 has been installed at Carlith Printing.
DOWNERS GROVE—Jet Litho received several awards for outstanding achievement in product catalogs, trade books, magazines and miscellaneous specialties. The Printing Industry of Illinois and Indiana recognized Jet in the 2004 Achievements in Print Excellence Awards (AIPX). Jet received two Best of Category, one Best of Division, two Awards of Excellence and two Certificates of Merit. The company’s winning submissions were the Lee Allison catalog; Safilo Sunwear; Building Michigan; Picasso: The Classical Period; Alt Pick magazine; and Guide to Duotones.
