CALIFORNIA

RIVERSIDE—The County of Riverside has installed a two-color, 173⁄4x223⁄4˝ Sakurai 258EIIZ press.

SACRAMENTO—Dome Printing has tripled the speed of its soft cover book binding capabilities with the August installation of a new 21-pocket Muller Martini Corona perfect binding system. The company now has the ability to utilize Polyurethane Reactive (PUR) glues, especially for the production of lay-flat books.

SAN FRANCISCO—Flexible packaging company Lithotype has implemented CRC Information Systems' business management software "THE System."

COLORADO

LOVELAND—Rocky Mountain region sheetfed printer Vision Graphics has successfully implemented the Printcafe Hagen OA print management system.

CONNECTICUT

BRIDGEPORT—Millennium Graphics has signed an agreement with CRC Information Systems to implement "THE System" business management software, including Label Estimating and Commercial Estimating modules. The company does flexo and offset work.

PUTNAM—Chase Graphics has purchased a two-color, 28˝ Komori Sprint perfector.

HAWAII

HONOLULU—Service Printers has added a Creo Trendsetter 800 Quantum CTP system with Prinergy software and an Epson Stylus Pro 10000 proofer to output four-color proofs in an eight-page format. The company also went digital with the purchase of a Canon imageRUNNER 5000. Established in 1964, Service Printers reports it is the oldest unionized sheetfed commercial printer in Hawaii.

ILLINOIS

LIBERTYVILLE—Four new Komori presses have been installed at Axios Communications. The new units include a seven-color, a six-color and a two-color Lithrone 40 press, as well as a four-color Lithrone 20.

TINLEY PARK—Crossmark Printing has purchased a Duplo System 4000 bookletmaker from Best Graphics.

WHEELING—Two six-color Komori Lithrone 40 presses with coaters and a four-color Komori Lithrone 40 press with coater have been delivered to Segerdahl Graphics.

KANSAS

LEXENA—Reflection Printing is now running a new Wohlenberg 115PS Cut-Tec paper cutter, supplied by MAN Roland. The installation was completed by Disgraf Service.

MARYLAND

LEONARDTOWN—Heritage Printing & Graphics has installed a fully automated four-color, 28˝ Sakurai 472EDII press. It is the company's second Sakurai press. Both units will work in conjunction with a Presstek PearlSetter CTP system running Anthem thermal plates.

ROCKVILLE—New remoist glue equipment has been added to the line of printing and mailing services offered by EU Services.

WHITE PLAINS—Automated Graphic Systems (AGS) has purchased the Protégé II CD duplication system and on-demand publisher. AGS produces both printed materials and electronic products such as Websites, CD-ROMs and e-books. It is owned by Consolidated Graphics.

MASSACHUSETTS

PLYMOUTH—A new four-color Komori Lithrone 28 is now operating at Rogers Printing.

QUINCY—The Ink Spot has increased its capabilities with the addition of a two-color Heidelberg GTO-52-2 sheetfed press.

MICHIGAN

ROYAL OAK—Commercial printer Arbor Press is implementing CRC Information Systems' business management software "THE System."

MINNESOTA

BRAINERD—A 21-pocket Muller Martini Corona perfect binder equipped with a splitting saw to facilitate two-up production has been installed at Bang Printing. The company is using the new binder to produce soft cover and case bound books.

OWATONNA—A six-color Komori Lithrone 28 press has been installed at J-C Press.

WINONA—Sheetfed printer W&C Printing has signed a deal to implement CRC Information Systems' business management software "THE System." It will include CRC's Dynamic Scheduling module to help streamline production and job planning.

MISSOURI

AURORA—MWM Dexter, a commercial sheetfed printer, has gone live with the Printcafe PSI print management system. PSI integrates 18 software modules with Microsoft's SQL Server database management system and Macola Progression Accounting. These tools automate job planning, costing, data collection, scheduling, purchasing, inventory management, accounting and more. In addition, MWM Dexter is an early adopter of Printcafe's PrinterSite Internal, an online solution enabling the printer's salespeople to collaborate more easily with their colleagues, reducing paperwork and increasing responsiveness.

KANSAS CITY—Hallmark Cards is now running a Wohlenberg 15PS Cut-Tec paper cutting system from MAN Roland. The installation was completed by Disgraf Service.

SAINT LOUIS—Nies/Artcraft Printing has completed the installation of a Heidelberg ST270 stitcher. The company specializes in one- to six-color web and sheetfed printing, prepress, bindery, fulfillment and asset management.

NEBRASKA

OMAHA—Corporate Express has purchased a six-color RDP Marathon 380V web press, configured with UV curing and the SmartSet 2000 press control system for its Document & Print Management division, based here. The press agreement calls for one press initially, with the option for the purchase of six additional presses. The division produces business forms, labels and direct mail products.

NEW YORK

HICKSVILLE—Coral Graphics has acquired a six-color Komori Lithrone 28 press.

LONG ISLAND CITY—Linco Printing has begun operating a new 11,000 cph Muller Martini Bravo-T saddle stitching system.

RIDGEWOOD—Arcade Bookbinding has installed a new AmigoPlus perfect binding system from Muller Martini.

NORTH CAROLINA

CHARLOTTE—A new two-color, 28˝ Komori Sprint press has been installed at M&M Printing.

DURHAM—Universal Printing has purchased a five-color Komori Lithrone 28.

OHIO

CLEVELAND—St Ives Cleveland has announced a $2 million equipment investment with the purchase of a six-color MAN Roland 706LV press. Additionally, the company is renovating its customer press approval suite.

PENNSYLVANIA

CONSHOHOCKEN—Pemcor Inc., a family owned, full-service commercial printing and direct mail fulfillment firm based here, has opened a sales office in Allentown, PA.

DALLAS—Classic Printers has installed a new four-color Komori Lithrone 20 press.

SHARON—Victor Printing, a forms manufacturer and commercial printer, has implemented CRC Information Systems' "THE System" business management software, including the Forms Estimating program. The company offers traditional continuous forms, four-color offset printing, print-on-demand services, variable data printing and digital wide-format printing.

SOUTH CAROLINA

CHAPIN—The FB Johnston Group has purchased and installed a new five-color Thieme 5060 in-line press. It reportedly is the first press of its kind installed in the Southeastern United States. The unit can print large-format, multi-colored sheets up to 61x83˝.

COLUMBIA—A six-color Komori Lithrone 40 perfector has been installed at State Printing.

GREENVILLE—Visual Graphics has purchased a five-color Komori Lithrone 20 press.

TENNESSEE

PULASKI—A new two-color, 28˝ Komori Sprint is up-and-running at Holley's Printing.

TEXAS

AUSTIN—A five-color Komori Lithrone 20 press with coater is now in operation at Copy Craft Printing.

FORT WORTH—Service Info Systems has expanded its production capabilities with the addition of a two-color Sakurai 258EPIIZ automated perfecting press.

HOUSTON—Seidl's Bindery has purchased a Sanwa 1060SE diecutter from Independent Machinery.

VERMONT

HINESBURG—A four-color, 181⁄8x22˝ Sakurai 458EPII automated four-up press has been installed at Vermont Print & Mail.

WISCONSIN

DELAVAN—Advance Printing has purchased a four-color Hamada B452 press from distributor Best Graphics.

KENOSHA—Accurate Printing has installed a two-color, 28˝ Komori Sprint press.

SUSSEX—A Bobst Media 100-III A-2 folder/gluer is up-and-running at Schreiber Specialties. The unit is helping to produce lock-bottom and four-corner boxes, pocket folders and double CD holders.
